Have you ever wondered what an outdoor wedding looks like, in a pine forest, surrounded by nature? It's intimate, simple, yet filled with amazing beauty.
We had the opportunity to provide a few rental pieces for this elopement-wedding inspired styled shoot a few weeks back, and so enjoyed the opportunity to work with some extremely talented vendors to create beautiful, tiny-wedding inspiration.
Set in the towering pines of a northwest suburban Chicago community, our goal was to create something that allowed the surroundings to speak for themselves, and give inspiration for a tiny, elopement wedding. A handful of friends to witness, a table set for desserts, and the beauty of the day make a wedding in the pines just about perfect.
Using our deep navy blue area rug as the anchor for the ceremony area, Gatherings Design created a beautiful backdrop of white flowers and ferns that was perfectly simple, yet elegant. Our wood-trimmed, galvanized top Pottery Barn lantern set gave just enough texture to the ceremony area, and provided just the right amount of candle light. I can imagine these lanterns twinkling well into the night as the celebration goes on!
The bride's bouquet was trimmed with silk ribbon, and the muted colors tied in perfectly with the vintage rug that anchored the ceremony area. We love to use rugs in our design for ceremonies; they're a perfect means to combine elements, both in color and theme.
After ceremony photos, the couple moved on to the sweetheart table, decorated with a beautiful macrame runner from Drifted Knots. Accenting the table were hand-made pottery luminaries, from T. E. Hansen, artist, and potter, beautiful invitations from The Letter J Creates, custom cocktails by Common Good Cocktails, and more beautiful floral displays.
The Sugar Path, a delightful bakery in Geneva, IL, provided a naked cake that was decorated with more florals! These tiny cakes for the couple and a few friends are just the perfect way to celebrate, eat cake, and have just enough to share!
The bride wore a gown from Flora And Lane, and it's simple flowing style was perfect for an intimate, woodland wedding. Not overdone, it was striking in it's long flowing train and spaghetti strap back! It certainly had a vintage feel that worked perfectly in the beautiful wooded setting.
Julia Maruyama Photography captured the essence of this shoot in such a dramatic way, a little moody, with appreciation for the surroundings, and the simplicity of the details. We love how our pieces completed the look, brought warmth to the ceremony area, and give you inspiration for your intimate, outdoor wedding.
Whether you choose your backyard, the beach, a beautiful pine forest, or another nature setting, we can assure you that your wedding day can be beautiful, memorable, and simply charming when you incorporate just the right touches to carry through your theme.
