Third Time is a Charm! Donna and Matt's pandemic-delayed wedding!

The pandemic threw many couple's weddings into chaos, and as we look back at some of our couple's wedding days, one would never realize all the stress, rescheduling, and reforming guest lists, as their wedding day plans came together.

Donna and Matt found The Loft of Elements Preserved after they had to reschedule their wedding during the start of the pandemic! We were so happy to accommodate their previously booked vendors, and looking back, would never have known all the frustration that had brought them to this place.

We love to hear a little of our couples' stories, and how they came about choosing The Loft for their wedding day, and they agreed to share a little here.

Donna and Matthew met online through one of the many available dating apps! They both resided in Rockford, Illinois, where they started their professional careers. Feeling adventurous, they decided to go kayaking on their 1st date. They had so much fun together that they decided to get lunch afterwards and saw a movie later that night. The rest is history! Donna's work relocated her to Tennessee and finally Minnesota. Matthew relocated to be with Donna both times!

Donna and Matthew's original wedding date was set for early June 2020 in Chicago, Illinois. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, they postponed their wedding celebration with family and friends to November 2020. Donna and Matt decided to elope on their original wedding date in June, in northern Minnesota, on a beautiful black sand beach, just the two of them. But, they still hoped to have a wedding celebration that included their family and friends. With so many uncertainties and unknowns of the pandemic, they decided to explore smaller, intimate wedding venues and reduce their guest list significantly since their original venue was much larger.

They came across The Loft of Elements Preserved in their search for a smaller wedding venue and the description sounded perfect. Big, open windows, farm tables, vintage furnishings, high ceilings and a blank canvas sounded perfect for an intimate wedding and was what Donna was looking for, stylistically. In addition, the space could be used for both ceremony and reception which was ideal. Not only was the space beautiful, but the venue also offered rental pieces which made it a one-stop shop and made the planning process less stressful.

"We were really able to bring our vision to life with the help of Beth and her vintage pieces. Around the venue, there are plenty of parks and historical buildings, perfect for photos. Planning from afar (since Donna & Matt resided in Minnesota), it was very important that there was good communication and Beth was absolutely wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding."

Donna and Matt had their first look in The Loft, and these are still some of the most touching photos of this moment in time! Taking advantage of a Full Day Wedding Package, they used the beautiful daylight hours to take photos with their attendants and family, then hosted their evening wedding, with dinner to finish!

Taking a few minutes to read their personal vows, Donna reacted with a smile. If you use The Loft as your getting ready space, hair and makeup artists love the natural light that it provides. Choose to do your first look photos, ceremony and reception, with our various package options!

Details! Always the details!

Each couple that has shared their wedding day with us leaves a little memory behind, and once again, we were honored to share Matthew and Donna's celebration and their intimate group of friends on their wedding day.
