Celebrate Your Love In A Micro-wedding at The Loft of Elements Preserved

Micro-Weddings became popular during the pandemic of 2020, due to social distancing, while keeping guests safe and the number of guests to a minimum. What couples have found in the years following, however, is that many continue to choose an intimate wedding, one with 50 or fewer guests, and for a number of reasons.

Bride and groom share a joyful dip during a ceremony, with petals falling. Background of greenery and candles sets a romantic mood.

One of the main reasons is that with a smaller guest count, you get to spend quality time with each guest, individually! Rather than a greeting in passing, you're able to share memories from the past, and be reminded of the very reason those particular people were the ones invited to your special day.

The Micro-Wedding trend continues to grow, however, as couples realize the cost savings they will realize with a smaller guest list. From the cost of flowers per guest table being decreased, to a smaller bartender tab and dinner costs, these are just a few of the larger ticketed items that will decrease dramatically with a Micro-Wedding.

Let's not forget that a Micro-Wedding allows you to personalize your day, and move away from all the "traditional" aspects, by bringing attention to aspects about you and your partner that are important! There's more flexibility in creating a Pinterest-style wedding that is still affordable, yet very much in tune with the important aspects of your lives, whether that's including a live painter, a string quartet, someone to play the guitar throughout the reception, hire food trucks or onsite brick oven pizza vendors, include your guests in some part of the ceremony, or create "experiences" for guests to enjoy. None of these things are necessary, but the options increase with a smaller guest list, in making your wedding truly personal.

Choosing a venue that's best fit for a smaller group, rather than a much larger venue will create that "intimate" feeling that so many couples want. It's hard to do so, however, when you are hosting 50 in a venue that can accommodate 350 or more!

The Loft of Elements Preserved is a century-old venue in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Elgin, IL, where our focus is on creating your day, bringing your vision to life, and celebrating your new beginnings.

Our Micro-Wedding package includes a photographer for 2 hours of your 3 hour booking, although you are able to add in additional time with the photographer, if you choose. Some choose to hire the photographer for an hour before arriving at the venue, or to stay for the final hour to get first dance photos, cake cutting photos, or others in outside settings nearby. Those add-ons may be hired directly with the photographer.

You also enjoy fresh florals (personal and backdrop), making for a traditional photo opportunity area after the nuptials. If you choose to forego the bouquet and boutonniere, there's extra to spend on flowers for your guest tables, and the backdrop!

We also include a charcuterie board for guests to enjoy during the reception, and cake! Take home the extras!

And finally, an officiant is included to create the ceremony of your choice, and perform the vows!

We take care of all the coordination between your vendors, an introduction letter to you and them for any specific requests, as well as coordination the day of for vendors drop-off/installations. We set up and take down guest seating, while our farm tables are simply decorated with greenery and candle lights, for guests to enjoy while socializing. We create a personalized calligraphy signage to greet guests, along with styling vintage dinnerware and flatware for dessert service, at each place setting. One of several pedestal cake plates is available for your use, along with gold or silver cake knife and server, for your use that day.

The natural light venue provides many locations for beautiful portraits, keepsake memories for you to enjoy for many years!

Your playlist may be used for music throughout your wedding and reception with our wireless Bluetooth speaker system. If you choose to do a "first dance," those moments are captured by your photographer, as well.
